Orange thREADs, the Orangeville Public Library’s stitchery group, made their annual donation of knitted, crocheted, and quilted items to Family Transition Place (FTP) on November 21. The group has made spreading warmth throughout the community – and beyond – a focal point each year.

On August 28, the Ontario government announced a full redevelopment of the Avalon Care Centre, Orangeville’s 40-year-old long term care facility.

The project will bring 23 new and 137 upgraded beds to the community, as well as air conditioning throughout the building, larger common areas for residents, and home-like living spaces. The site will also provide diagnostic services and connections for home care.
